American Society on Aging (ASA)
A site for an umbrella organization focusing on professionals and organizations that serve older people. Includes information about conferences, training, publications, news, and special projects. The section on "constituent groups" offers information related to mental health, healthcare, religion and spirituality, gay and lesbian seniors, and business.


The Arthritis Society
Current, practical information about arthritis. Includes types of arthritis, pain management, exercise tips, programs and resources, research news, a database of questions and answers, and a dictionary. From "Canada's only not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing and promoting arthritis education, community support and research-based solutions."


Ask the Dietitian
In this site, Joanne Larsen M.S., R.D. registered dietitian, advises about topics related to diet and foods. As of February 19, 1996, the database contains 346 answers covering 61 topics such as Alcohol, Caffeine, Diabetes, Exercise, Junk Foods, and Vegetarian. We can look over the three screens of topics, and if we don't find what we want to know, then we can still write and ask questions to her through e-mail. If the question is appropriate, it will be answered and posted to a group.
